Reviews

Toni Lee (aka Toni Colley-Lee) has written a wonderfully original adventure thriller with intrigue, jewel thieves, hot sex, cultural authenticity at its center. In this totally engrossing quest novel, Toni opens up complete worlds on two continents with sights, smells and experiences that will leave readers salivating.  Welcome a fresh exciting and powerful voice on the literary scene.

DUPLICITY is well written and profoundly entertaining. Toni Lee's characters are real, earthy and so exciting you forget that you're reading a book. The story moves with the force of an earthquake that registers 7.5 on the richter scale. There is no doubt that Ms Lee is a Storyteller.

An exhilarating romp around the world! Duplicity enters into the world of intrigue, desire and violence as it transports the reader from the closeted halls of Washington, D.C. to the savagery of the African savannas to exotic pleasures and dangers of Marrakech. A Mother's Love

Nestled in the bosom of a mother's love and mystical embrace, this well written, fast paced story of suspense and intrigue propels you from the clutches of middle class Black political society via the Black Caucus Dinner in Washington, DC to the exotic embrace of foreign espionage.

Through a staccato-like barrage of exciting and unanticipated adventures, the characters of Duplicity crisscross the continent of Africa. Each adventure builds on the previous one and leaves the reader breathlessly anticipating the next. Sex, violence, love, family and humor are all artfully woven into the fabric of this story. You may ask "does Toni Lee have something for everyone?" My response is that Ms. Lee has provided something for all ages and we are the willing and grateful beneficiaries of her incredible literary prowess.

Internal Workings Come Alive

From the opening scene of Duplicity the reader is immediately drawn into the action, and the story continues to move quickly from there. Yet within the fast paced plot, Lee uses her characters to deal with deep philosophical issues. In Duplicity each character wrestles with their own internal contradictions.
